Rowan Pope is a sociopath. I don't know how else to describe him. And Jake, if Olivia believes you're guilty and your only hope is the newly alcoholic, David Rosen, I think you're in more trouble than you know.

Tonight we got only a little glimpse at the recurring arc of Katherine's case. Quinn and Olivia witnessed their number one suspect, Kubiak, murder Katherine's daughter's best friend, Faith. When Olivia confronted Jeremy, Katherine's husband, he played dumb about Kubiak. But Quinn was on to him. She figured out that Faith swallowed a mysterious "key" before she died. So the natural next move is to break into the morgue and cut her open to find the key. That happens, right? (Wait... does it?) And that was about it for that case. Everyone had way more personal drama to deal with than to actually investigate a case.

Huck is still stalking his ex-wife Astrid Kim to try and see his son. He confessed everything to Kim but she thinks he's crazy. Huck accepts her invitation to see his son, but it is an intervention with a doctor. Huck, does not respond well. (Nearly strangling the Doctor, probably not helping your case Huck.) I think if Huck confessed everything to her, she may be in danger, no?

David is having a less than great time in his new position as Attorney General as he can't deal with his guilt over the death of the Judge when he tried to play dirty. After some awkward drunk dials, he finally confesses everything to Abby which led to a confrontation with Olivia. Olivia breaking down in tears is not the reaction she expected and the two comfort each other.

But in the White House is where the real drama is happening. Jake is simply not having it in the interrogation room because he knows, once he can talk to Fitz, he'll tell him about Rowan and they'll be all square. But the thing is, Fitz has no desire to hear the truth. Because the only truth he knows is that Olivia has the feelings for Jake therefore Jake must have killed his son. (Sound logic.) Once Jake realizes it's all about jealousy and rage, he's pretty much screwed. FLOTUS is still in drinking-smelly-Ugg mode when a drunken confrontation with Fitz leads to the confession that Jerry was murdered. However, this makes her feel better somehow, like he was a soldier who died for his country. Fitz is disgusted and she goes upstairs and showers. (And removes those God forsaken Uggs! #hallelujah)

Cyrus made a good point when he visited Olivia. Now, I love me some Jake Ballard, and I am worried for him and hoping his name is cleared soon, however, let's not forget, he did kill Cyrus' husband James. Jake is not a good guy. And yet we're all rooting for him. Damn you, Shonda Rhimes! How do you do this to us? Rowan has completely convinced Olivia that although Rowan did use Jake to manipulate Olivia in some ways, he in no way asked him to kill Jerry or Harrison and yet he did. And Olivia believes him? Why does Olivia believe him? Seriously, why?

What I Know:

  • Huck confessed everything to Quinn. I'm thinking she's going to try to intervene again, you know, because that always works in her favor.

  • Cyrus got no prostitute lovin' this week. I'm thinking the RNC Chair's blackmail plan is going to come into play soon.

  • Is anyone else disturbed that Quinn is probably the sanest person in the group now?

What I Don't Know:

  • David Rosen is now the only one who knows of Jake's "innocence" in the murder of Jerry and Harrison. Does he come through? Or is this his chance to rid himself of the B-613 files once and for all?

  • Or if Abby knows it all, maybe it's time for her to stand up and do the right thing. Not that we know what the right thing is anymore.

  • Is Mellie about to step up and be the one to reel Fitz back in from grief?

Lines I Love:

  • Mellie - What can I say, baby? Today you get a two-fer: Drunk Mellie and Smelly Mellie.

  • Olivia - There's not a single word I understood in that sentence except "cowbell."

  • David - Many of my predecessors were distinguished alcoholics.

Fitz is very angry at Mellie because her issues are so on the surface whereas he is suppressing all of his. So I'm thinking his pummeling of Jake had a little more to do with his suspicion that Jake killed Jerry. And that was a beating that memories of a desert island or even Bill Withers can withstand.
