Augustana Album Out Today, Band Performs On Kimmel Live

Augustana release their eagerly awaited self-titled album today, April 26th on Epic Records. The album is currently streaming on MySpace and the video premiere for its first single "Steal Your Heart" has racked up over 120,000 views with it's VEVO premiere late last week. Augustana will perform "Steal Your Heart" on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, April 27th, on ABC.

Early praises include:
"It reminded me a lot of older Springsteen with the storytelling aspect" - Absolute Punk

"Alternates between gorgeous piano based ballads and twangy rockers each wrapped in Dan Layus' warbled vocals and effortless melodies." - Alternative Press

"Augustana will steal your heart." - San Francisco Examiner

Hailing from San Diego, Augustana is vocalist/guitarist Dan Layus, guitarist Chris Sachtleben, bassist Jared Palomar, and drummer Justin South. The album was recorded in Los Angeleswith Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Jacquire King, who is known for his work with Kings of Leon and Norah Jones, among others. The album delivers on what Alternative Press calls "the emotionally resonant, rootsy pop/rock that Augustana have become known for since launching themselves onto the scene with their major-label debut, 2005's All The Stars and Boulevards." The album reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, and spawned two Top 40 hits, "Stars and Boulevards" and "Boston," the latter of which was certified digital platinum. The band's follow-up, 2008's Can't Love, Can't Hurt spawned the singles "Sweet and Low," and "I Still Ain't Over You."
