AMC'S WALKING DEAD Original Soundtrack - Vol. 1' Now Available Digitally & in Stores

REPUBLIC RECORDS and AMC's "The Walking Dead AMC Original Soundtrack Vol. 1" has officially invaded stores. The album is on iTunes and all digital outlets now and available at physical retailers everywhere March 19. Upon releasing digitally, it immediately hit #2 on the iTunes Overall Top Albums Chart and #1 on the Soundtrack Albums Chart. It's seen immense success on the iTunes Soundtrack Albums Chart internationally as well, reaching #1 in Canada and Brazil, #2 in Australia, #3 in Mexico, #5 in the UK, #5 in France, and #6 in Germany.

Featuring songs from the Emmy Award-winning AMC series, it's finally ready to be devoured by audiences and zombie fanatics alike. The show has two new episodes remaining this season, airing Sundays at 9pm ET/PT on AMC.

The soundtrack's sonic feast has drummed up anticipation on par with the series. Jamie N Commons recently performed the compilation's first track "Lead Me Home" on AMC's live after show, "Talking Dead" hosted by Chris Hardwick. In addition, brotherly blues rock duo Baby Bee also delivered a smoldering and sizzling live rendition of "Love Bug" on an earlier installment.

Throughout the season, tracks have premiered via the show itself. After its unveiling in the March 3 episode, "Lead Me Home" fueled various AMC promo spots, while Fink's "Warm Shadow" (Dactyl Remix) debuted March 10. Leading right up to the release, Voxhaul Broadcast's "You Are the Wilderness" was first heard on March 17.

The compilation also includes previously unreleased material including "Sinking Man" from multiplatinum-selling Icelandic alternative folk sensation Of Monsters and Men, an UNKLE remix of composer Bear McCreary's "Main Title Theme Song", Delta Spirit's "Running", and more. Just like the show, the soundtrack remains a dynamic powerhouse replete with unforgettable moments.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, the series garnered a 2010 Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series Drama and won the 2011 and 2012 Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Make-Up. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.
