Two world-renowned television programs produced for PBS, A CAPITOL FOURTH and the NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT won Silver and Bronze World Medals respectively at this year's New York Festivals® International TV & Film Awards. Both programs are produced by Capital Concerts with Jerry Colbert and Michael Colbert serving as Executive Producers.

The award ceremony, which was held on Tuesday, April 19th, at the 2016 NAB Show in Las Vegas, honors programming in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries. Dedicated to both the Television and Film industries, categories mirror today's global trends and encourage the next generation of story-tellers and talent in the areas of: Animation, Comedy, Corporate, Drama, Documentary, Feature Films, Movie Trailers, Music Videos, News, Promos, Reality TV Drama, Sports, Telenovelas, Webisodes, Best Performance by an Actor/Actress, Special Event, Innovation, Technical Production Team, CSR, Best Screenplay, Video Art, and Best Host.

Capital Concerts Executive Producer Jerry Colbert said, "We are deeply honored to accept these awards on behalf of the NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT and A CAPITOL FOURTH, two live events commemorating America's most important holidays. With the NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERTour goal is to unite the country in remembrance and appreciation of the fallen and to serve those who are grieving. On July 4, we also bring the nation together in a celebratory occasion for a spectacular American birthday party!" Each program broadcasts live nationwide on PBS from the West Lawn of the United States Capitol before a concert audience of hundreds of thousands with millions more globally via the American Forces Network to our troops serving around the world.

The programs are a co-production of Jerry Colbert of Capital Concerts and WETA, Washington, D.C. Executive producers Jerry Colbert and Michael Colbert have assembled an award-winning production team that features the top Hollywood talent behind some of television's most prestigious entertainment awards shows. The team includes: Emmy award-winning producer Walter C. Miller, whose credits include the GRAMMY AWARDS and COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS; and award-winning director Paul Miller whose credits include THE COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
