Katy Perry took a brief break from touring to appear at a Special Olympics event at the White House on July 31st. Introduced by the President, she performed 'Roar' from her Prism album at an intimate event. 

Perry has received many awards and nominations, including eleven Grammy nominations. Billboard dubbed her 2012's Woman of the Year. She has been listed in the Forbes "Top-Earning Women In Music" for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Perry is the only artist to spend 69 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Hot 100. Throughout her career, she has sold more than 11 million albums and 81 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. She has six quintuple-platinum certified singles in the United States, more than any other artist.
