Wade Bowen Releases "BURNED IN THE FIRE" Ahead of Sept. 23 Opry Show
The track, co-written with Sean McConnell, draws on bluesy-rock influences and Elvis Presley.
Texas Red Dirt country singer-songwriter Wade Bowen released his new single 'Burned In The Fire' from his forthcoming album The Version Of Me You Get (September 25/ Thirty Tigers). The fiery anthem mixes heartbreak with attitude, and injects a rush of energy into the tracklisting. The album can be pre-ordered here and the new single can be streamed here.
''Burned In The Fire' was an older song that I dug back up, which I tend to do when I'm making a record. I like going through the catalog and finding songs that didn't quite fit before but finally do,' shared Bowen. 'This one ended up being a little different for me from start to finish. There's an anger that happens with it lyrically that I don't usually use a lot in my songs. I really like when this emotion comes out as it shows a different kind of passion with songwriting.'
Written alongside Sean McConnell, 'Burned In The Fire' is a nod to one of Bowen's favorites, Elvis Presley, with its bluesy-rock influences. The single also showcases a strong, angsty emotion that's reminiscent of his hit 'Resurrection' from Lost Hotel. The correlation is timely, as the singer-songwriter is gearing up to celebrate a milestone 20th anniversary of his career-defining, second studio album this November.
'Burned In The Fire' follows previously released tracks 'Turpentine,' 'People Like Us' and 'Rain,' which became one of his strongest-performing radio singles in recent years, reaching #1 on the Texas Country Music and American Country Music charts and #2 on the CDX Texas chart.
More than 4,000 tour dates into his accomplished career, Bowen continues to bring his signature hits and new releases to fans across the country with a steady stream of tour dates and festivals. On September 23rd, he'll take the stage at the legendary Grand Ole Opry, followed by a handful of performances alongside fellow Texas singer-songwriter Koe Wetzel later this year.

About Wade Bowen
Two decades and more than 4,000 shows into his career, Wade Bowen is one of the most respected voices in Texas country and Red Dirt music. A contemporary of artists like Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, and Casey Donahew, Bowen has helped shape the modern Texas music landscape while continuing to carry it forward. In 2025, he earned five Texas Regional Radio Music (T3R) Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for the third consecutive year.
A landmark 2026 is in store for Bowen, who will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lost Hotel with a deluxe release of his career-defining album in November, as well as release his 11th studio album, The Version of Me You Get, on September 25. 'Overall, sonically, I think this record is a change of pace. I think it's rootsy. It has some grit and rock edges to it,' Bowen says of the record, which may be his most revealing statement yet in a career built around honesty. With eleven studio albums, multiple live records, and 36 #1 Texas radio songs, Bowen continues to evolve while staying grounded in Texas roots. Performing more than 200 shows annually with his band, Bowen remains committed to building his career the same way he always has; through standout songs, a powerful live show, and the kind of staying power that only comes from years on the stage.
