WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org), New York's station for music discovery, has announced that Aimee Mann, Randy Newman, Jeff Tweedy, and Lo Moon will perform at the 13th annual Holiday Cheer for FUV concert, which will take place at the Beacon Theatre on Friday, December 15, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the concert, which benefits the public radio station, go on sale on Thursday, October 5, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster Charge By Phone (1-866-858-0008), all Ticketmaster Outlets and www.beacontheatre.com.

"Holiday Cheer is our big event of the year, and this year's lineup nicely mirrors the range of music you hear on WFUV," said Program Director Rita Houston, the concert curator. "Aimee, Randy, and Jeff are all world-class songwriters, not to mention longtime FUV faves, and Lo Moon is one of the most exciting new bands around!"
Aimee Mann first gained notice as the lead singer of the Boston-based band, 'Til Tuesday, in the mid-1980s. She has released nine critically-acclaimed albums as a solo artist (in addition to her Grammy and Academy Award-winning contributions to the soundtrack of the Paul Thomas Anderson film Magnolia), with finely-crafted songs about the human condition. Her latest, Mental Illness, in part chronicles life in Los Angeles, where she lives.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Randy Newman has enjoyed a celebrated, five-decade career as a singer and songwriter. His output includes 11 studio albums (yielding countless cover versions of his songs), plus the scores to 25 films (from Ragtime to Toy Story to Meet the Parents). He has earned 20 Academy Award nominations (with two wins), three Emmys, and six Grammy Awards. His most recent album, Dark Matter, is an acerbic take on the state of America.

After the breakup of the seminal alternative country band Uncle Tupelo in 1994, guitarist, singer and songwriter Jeff Tweedy co-founded the Chicago-based band, Wilco, which has released 11 studio albums, including the landmark Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. His side projects include the all-star group, Golden Smog, the album Sukierae, recorded with his son Spencer, and Together at Last, an acoustic revisiting of songs from the Wilco catalog, plus producing albums by Mavis Staples, Richard Thompson, and others.

With just two songs out in the world, Lo Moon is already one of the most talked-about new bands in Los Angeles's indie scene. The trio have received early accolades from the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times and were named one of WFUV's New Artists to Watch in 2017. They are one of the three emerging artists in the inaugural class of Slingshot, the collaboration between NPR Music, VuHaus, and leading public radio stations, including WFUV, and are at work on their full-length debut album. Holiday Cheer for FUV is produced in conjunction with MSG Entertainment. The last three, Conor Oberst & Friends, Brandi Carlile & Friends, and Amos Lee & Friends, have all sold out the Beacon.
