The On Stage at the Halloran Centre series welcomes saxophonist and vocalist Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers for one night only on Saturday, February 4th at 7:30 PM. The GRAMMY®-nominated musician visits Memphis for a memorable night of music.

"My dad's band The Fabulous Entertainers recorded in Memphis when I was a kid," said Mindi Abair. "I've got your city in my blood, but my band has never ever played a Memphis date. I want to soak in some great music - and food - while in town!"

Although this is the first time her band has played in the Bluff City, Abair is no stranger to Memphis music. She has written and performed songs with Stax legend Booker T. Jones on two of her albums: Wild Heart and Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers LIVE in Seattle. In a career that spans seven solo albums and countless collaborations, Abair has made her mark on a broad stretch of the musical landscape that includes jazz, pop, rock, R&B, soul, funk, and more. The powerhouse saxophonist/vocalist has earned the respect of top-shelf artists representing every one of the aforementioned genres. Abair was the featured saxophonist on American Idol, jammed on the Late Show with David Letterman and joined Aerosmith for their 2012 summer tour. In 2014, Abair received a GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category. More recently, Abair received a 2015 GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for her follow-up solo CD Wild Heart.
