Already hailed as a triumph in early critical notices, Songs of Experience, the 14th studio album from U2, is released today by Interscope Records in the U.S. on CD, vinyl, digital download and across streaming platforms. Songs of Experience's release has been heralded by first single "You're The Best Thing About Me," as well as album tracks "American Soul" and "Get Out of Your Own Way," and "The Blackout," the latter recently released as a special Record Store Day limited edition 12" vinyl single on Third Man Records. Pre-orders of the deluxe version of the album will also receive the Kygo remix of "You're The Best Thing About Me."
U2 will celebrate Songs of Experience's release with a December 2 performance on Saturday Night Live. Produced by Jacknife Lee and Ryan Tedder, with Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow and Jolyon Thomas, the album features a cover image by Anton Corbijn of band members' teenage children Eli Hewson and Sian Evans. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. will take the new material on the road on the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour beginning in North America in May 2018. Just as Songs of Experience serves as a companion piece to 2014's Songs of Innocence, the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour will serve as a sequel to 2015's iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour which saw "U2 reinvent the arena show" (Rolling Stone) and was named the #1 concert of 2015 by The New York Times. With demand for tickets necessitating second dates in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC, the eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour will kick off on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Tulsa OK at the BOK Center.
