The Music of Joey Contreras Album Release Concert Held at Joe’s Pub 3/27

Taking over Joe's Pub for the first time at 9:30PM on March 27th, 2011, musical theatre songwriter Joey Contreras celebrates the release of his internationally selling debut album, "Love Me, Love Me Not" with an evening of energetic and emotionally charged music. Joining him on stage include Stephanie Torns (Wicked), Rachel Potter (Addams Family), Gabe Violett (Spring Awakening), Carrie Manolakos (Mamma Mia!), Zak Resnick, Michael Lowney (La Cage Aux Folles), Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening), Tim Young (next to normal), Philip Drennen, Brad Greer, Auri Marcus, and Rebekah Melocik with more to be announced soon! The concert will also premiere three new songs. In a night that promises to be electrifying, come hear Joey's touching music about the many levels of falling in and out of love as well as a healthy dose of belting and riffing. A free CD of Joey Contreras music will be given away with every ticket purchased for this concert! This Concert is being produced by MNA Entertainment Inc and directed by Michael Alshooler.

For those that don't know, Joey Contreras is a new musical theatre songwriter on the New York scene. He wrote the music and lyrics for song cycle, "This Thing Called Love" which was originally work shopped in Philadelphia with Philly Music Theatre Works and is currently in development with other regional theatre companies. In addition to two sold out concerts at The Duplex, Joey's music and arrangements have been featured at multiple NY venues including Le Poisson Rouge, Joe's Pub, the Laurie Beechman Theater, and the 2010 Broadway in South Africa gala.
