The Arts at Millersville University and Harrisburg native, jazz pianist and composer, Steve Rudolph will present The Jost Project with Special Guest Drummer Marko Marcinko as part of the Ware Center's popular Jazz in the Sky series in the Owen Salon overlooking Prince Street on Friday, October 9 at 7:30 PM. The band includes vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist/harmonist Paul Jost, and bassist Kevin MacConnell. Devoted to presenting innovative arrangements of classic rock in a jazz format, The Jost Project plays the music of the 60's and 70's. According to Jazz in Europe, "The Jost Project is, without a doubt, one of the most creative bands I have heard in years."

All tickets include complimentary beverage service which begins at 7 PM with the concert beginning at 7:30 PM. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster. Tickets are $25, reserved seating, and can be purchased online by visiting ArtsMU.com or by calling 717-871-7600. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Student Memorial Center on Millersville's campus, or the Ware Center Doors open one hour before each show for ticket sales, subject to availability.

The goal of The Jost Project is to bring attention to jazz by reaching into the "baby boomer" and subsequent generations that came of age with Aerosmith, Led Zepellin, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Iron Butterfly and genres rarely played by jazz musicians. Included in their performance will be selections from their CD, Can't Find My Home (Dot Time Records), including Kashmir, Walk This Way, Maybe I'm Amazed, Sunshine Superman, Bridge Over Troubled Water and many more.

The Jost Project has been performing internationally - in South Korea and most recently in Ireland. Miceli, who receives raves for his talent as a vibraphonist, maintains a hectic schedule performing throughout the United States, South America, and Europe. Jost recently performed at JazzAhead in Germany, the international jazz expo and conference, and his CD "Breaking Through" (Dot Time Records) continues to get applauded worldwide. This spring he headlined at Michael Kline's Exit Zero Jazz Festival in Cape May, NJ with his own jazz interpretation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" album and he performs the last Wednesday of each month at the famed 55 Bar jazz club in New York City. Bassist Kevin MacConnell is also highly respected on the jazz and Pop scene. He performs with John Blake and Jimmy Bruno and continues to tour the country with the classical/blue grass ensemble "The DePue Brothers Band.", which features two members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as blue grass legends, Mark Cosgrove and Tony Trischka. Recently, he performed with The Philly POPS Orchestra.

Guest artist Marcinko was born and raised outside Scranton in the suburb of Archbald and makes his home in Scranton today, where he runs the Scranton Jazz Festival and founded the non-profit organization The PA Jazz Alliance (PAJA), dedicated to exposing the entire state of PA to the highest level of musicianship and instruction through performances and educational workshops. He also serves as adjunct professor at Penn State University, Marywood University and Keystone College. Marcinko has played and recorded with the most legendary jazz musicians including Maynard Ferguson, Clark Terry, Mark Murphy, Dave Liebman, Arturo Sandivol and Phil Woods.
