Tal National's New York Debut Set for Today

Tal National is not just another band from Niger. Their repetiore includes original compositions and modern interpretations of African folk songs that create rich, complex sounds ranging from the styles of punk rock, to soul, to West African rock.
A domestic phenomenon, they've had several #1 songs in their home country and are constantly featured on national TV. They sell their discs on the street, at roundabouts, since there is no distribution system in the country. Tal National's last CD pressing sold out in just one day.
The group is extensively touring the US for the first time this fall with their release of their new album, Kaani and will be performing at the Brooklyn Bowl in September!
