Sound Waves Music Festival to Present Young Talent Performing for Charity in Huntington 3/8

Promising to deliver a great night of music with some of Long Island's best emerging young artists, the first-ever Sound Waves Music Festival on Friday March 8th is a concert with a cause.

SWMF was conceived as a night of great local music in support of those in need. This year, the focus is on two great charities: My Sisters' Place in Westchester, NY, who works to combat domestic violence and human trafficking of women, men, and children, and The HEART in Haiti School; a private school delivering quality education to over 200 children in Port au Prince, Haiti. All proceeds from the event will be split evenly between these two great foundations.

The night will feature genre-hopping sets from four bands who are making waves on the local music scene and beyond. Music fans of all ages are sure to discover something new, as these artists lend their time and talents to create a night of killer music.

Vaeda Black - Vaeda Black is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter currently in her senior year at Harborfields High School. Vaeda's unique sound is a blend of alt-pop, hip-hop, indie rock and soul that takes listeners on a dark and mysterious journey through a wide range of emotions.

Ernie & The Band - Emerging on the local club scene in 2018, they quickly are becoming a must-see act after their high energy set at last summer's Great South Bay Music Festival. Combining elements of jam, blues and classic rock, Ernie & The Band, deliver what can only be described as a new classic sound.

Sons of Sound - The youngest of the festival's bands, with members ranging from 13 to 15 years old. This soulful power rock trio are already seasoned musicians, serving up bluesy, guitar-driven rock.

Llylac - Little is known publicly about this mysterious indie rock band of Harborfields High School musicians. All extremely talented in their own right, they come together to form a new style of jam band that crosses genres and styles.

"We truly have a passion around both music and giving back, and that's the driving force behind this event," stated Tommy Spero, co-founder of the event. "Whenever people can connect - be it through music, having something in common, or working together for a cause - it's powerful. At Sound Waves, we are combining all of those things to create a very special event." concluded Spero.

The Sound Waves festival kicks off Friday, March 8th at 7 PM at the American Legion Post 360 at 1 Mill Dam Road, Huntington, NY 11743.
