25-year-old Los Angeles-based artist Sophie Strauss premieres "Drive Down Mama" video via Pure Nowhere, out today! Juxtaposing lush synths, earthy percussion and searing vocals, Sophie brings to the table her trademark opinionated honesty with this single. Clocking in just under the 2:00 mark, Sophie settles for a minimalistic approach: "I wrote this right after the election and recorded it all sitting in my childhood bed on GarageBand," said Sophie, explaining the origin of the track. "I was feeling a push and pull of exhaustion, frustration, and knowing I needed to energize myself and others to not get too bogged down and devastated."
