Reykjavik Calling Showcase Set for The Gothic Theatre as Part of A Taste of Iceland Tonight, 9/29

Denver music fans are in for much more than a "taste" of Iceland at The Gothic Theatre this weekend, they can expect an earful. Reykjavik Calling, part of the A Taste of Iceland events in Denver this week, is a free Icelandic music showcase presented by KGNU 88.5 FM & 1390 AM tonight, September 29, 2012. Doors open at 8 p.m.

In addition to performing full sets, during the show, each Iceland artists will be paired with a Denver-based singer songwriter to perform never before heard cross-cultural collaborations. Fans can expect a variety of musical styles from Iceland's best including Lay Low's bluesy honky-tonk inspired vocals to Mugison's epic power-rock performances. Denver's First Annual Reykjavik Calling showcase celebrates music emerging from Denver and Iceland. This event of cross cultural musical exploration features four Denver-area artists paired with four of Iceland's top musicians for night full of new sounds, exciting performances, and never before heard collaborations.
