Red Hot Chili Peppers Launch Global Listening Party For New Album I'M WITH YOU

Fans of Red Hot Chili Peppers will be able to get their first listen to the multi-platinum rock band's upcoming album I'm With You today via a series of live streams broadcast from listening events around the world, and a free full-album stream on iTunes.

Beginning at noon PST, the band is launching the official Global Listening Party for I'm With You via a series of events taking place in London, Toronto, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, and Los Angeles that are being broadcast live on redhotchilipeppers.com. Fans can visit the website and locate the event locations on Google maps to watch everything as it unfolds in each city. Those who live near any of the parties are invited to come to the event spot and listen live with other RHCP fans. Each venue was chosen for its special meaning to the band. Lee's Palace in Toronto is the first venue the Chili Peppers ever performed at in Toronto, while the Venice Boardwalk in Los Angeles is where they shot the video for their current single "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie." In New York, fans will be able to skate at House of Vans while they listen to the album.

In addition to the Global Listening Parties I'm With You will be streamed in its entirety free on iTunes from today at noon PST until the album's release on August 29 at www.itunes.com/rhcp, where fans can also pre-order the album.

The album's first single, "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" has been No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative chart for two consecutive weeks, and has enabled the Los Angeles quartet to surpass their own record for the artist with the most Number One singles in Modern Rock radio chart history with 12.

Recorded at East West In Los Angeles and Shangri-la in Malibu, CA, I'm With You was produced by Rick Rubin, who produced the band's previous five albums, Stadium Arcadium (2006), By The Way (2002), Californication (1999), One Hot Minute (1995), and Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). Andrew Scheps and Greg Fidelman mixed the album.

One of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs, and won six Grammy Awards, including "Best Rock Album" for Stadium Arcadium, "Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group" for "Dani California," "Best Rock Song" for "Scar Tissue," and "Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal" for "Give It Away."

The band, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, will perform at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on August 24th before traveling to South America in September for several shows, including a headlining stint at the Rock in Rio Festival in Brazil on the 24th.
