Pop singer-songwriter Rebecca Black continues to surprise, silencing critics and defying expectation, today releasing her new single, "Heart Full of Scars" (Spotify - YouTube - Soundcloud). The bracingly honest and inspiring song finds Black exploring her very personal journey from viral hate to acceptance and confidence and marks the third single from the now 20-year-old's upcoming debut EP, which will be released September 15 (preorder now via PledgeMusic).

Fans can hear the new EP live this fall when she will be joined by LGBTQ YouTube stars Miles McKenna (formerly known as Amanda McKenna) and Shannon Beveridge to kick off the "Love is Love" tour, a 17-date, nationwide tour that aims to unite an underserved group of Americans online with an interactive live experience focused on acceptance, anti-bullying and equality. The unique touring experience, presented by AT&T's thx2att and Fullscreen Media, will kick off October 1 at Chicago's Logan Square Auditorium before visiting major cities across the country. Tickets are on sale now here, tour dates attached below.

The new single previews the release of her first-ever collection of music and follows the success of her debut, "The Great Divide," which peaked at #23 on Billboard Magazine's tastemaking Dance Club Songs Chart, and "Foolish," a surprise critics hit. Entertainment Weekly called the track an, "Addictive electro-pop jam... awesome new single" while Rolling Stone explained that this was, "The start of a second pop career."

What at first would seem improbable is actually the result of a multi-year plan the singer instituted after taking a long sabbatical following her meteoric rise to international notoriety. In 2011, Black, then a 13-year-old, eighth-grade student, was thrust into a media maelstrom after a novelty music video her mother paid to have produced as a gift was uploaded to YouTube and went viral, turning the song -and her name- into a national punch line. The inanely catchy "Friday" drew over 100 million views in just over 30 days. It also drew death threats, something the young woman tried to take in stride as she appeared cheery and upbeat on TV shows like Good Morning America where she was interviewed in a segment dubbed, "Worst Video in the World?"

Following "Friday," the singer withdrew from public, eventually setting herself up on YouTube, where she developed a devoted audience who enjoyed tuning in to see Black share her life. Subscribers quickly grew to over 1 million, providing her an important outlet to talk directly to fans and try out new music. Emboldened by the support, Black worked on her songwriting and eventually headed back into the studio where she continues to write and record new music. The singer enjoys using her second chance at success to serve as an inspiration to her fans and supporters across her growing social media channels.
