RENA Reveals Punk Influenced 'Symptom of Youth' Video

Brooklyn-based musician/producer Rena is set to release her debut EP Rude Chick on May 6th. In anticipation, she reveals the provocatively playful "Symptom Of Youth" video with Bullett Magazine. The single was first revealed by NYLON who dubbed it "a solid call-and-repeat anthem for the quintessential punk." Rena comments:

"We wanted to do something that was appropriately angsty for the song, but also poking fun at it," Rena explains. On the surface the song seems like a celebration of these party antics, but really when I wrote it, I was tired of all of it. As a person with social anxiety, working in bars and clubs was very overwhelming and overstimulating. This song is actually about being wildly depressed amidst a crazy party, which is ironic and kind of silly in and of itself."

Rude Chick EP Released May 6th
Ft. "Rude Chick" + "Symptom Of Youth" Out Now

The Rude Chick EP is a five track collection that features singles "Rude Chick" + "Symptom Of Youth" and radiates the ultimate punk vibe. Produced by Rena herself + mixed/mastered by Dan Walker and Will Broussard at Submarine Studio in Brooklyn, the EP sees Rena embrace a major stylistic shift. Known most notably for her work featured in Magic Mike XXL + an Acura TLX advert, her musical style has evolved over the past several years from the fierce diva in 2014's "Jealous" video to the take-the-mic-by-the-balls female-centered punk rock on Rude Chick.
