Today, multi-talented R&B crooner and rapper, Darrein Safron, debuts his new single and video for "Lover Friend." The beautifully smoothed out track was produced by multi-platinum hit maker Scott Storch, and is the first single from Darrein's upcoming Strange Music LP, Ignorance, dropping this fall. The song showcases Darrein's supreme singing and songwriting ability, which are just a couple of the tools he has in his musical arsenal. Last spring, Darrein broke onto the music scene with his The Brilliant EP, and later in the year dropped his Call Logs mixtape. Both releases were just small glimpses of what was to come for the 21-year-old St. Louis native.

In December, Darrein made an appearance on Tech N9ne's The Storm album, with a rapid-fire guest verse and hook on the hit single "Get Off Me", which had the music world taking major notice of Darrein's skills. In May, Darrein accompanied Tech N9ne and labelmate Stevie Stone to the "Sway In The Morning" show on Sirius/XM radio. During the interview, Darrein confidently summoned an impromptu rap session over a mix of beats called "The 5 Fingers of Death" and once again stole the show.

With his Ignorance LP on the way, Darrein saved the best of his work for the new album and enlisted an impressive list of beat makers for it. In addition to Scott Storch, the album features production by Happy Perez (Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Halsey), League of Stars (Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, The Game), and 808 Mafia (Gucci Mane, Future, French Montana). Stay tuned for more new music and videos from Darrein Safron and the debut of his album later this year.
