Following the immense success of last year's West Coast tour, Sons Of Hippies return to Southern CA for shows at the Tin Can Ale House in San Diego on Feb 26th, and the Viper Room in Hollywood on Feb 27th. Settle in with the locals at the Tin Can as lead vocalist/guitarist Katherine Kelly, drummer Jonas Canales, keyboardist/guitarist David Daly and bassist Morgan Soltes fill the stage with their psychonautic blend of classic rock and pop with modern fuzz. Then head to the Viper Room, to watch the Hippies provide some much needed atmosphere to Hollywood's notorious Sunset Strip. The Sons Of Hippies are built around Kelly's powerful vocals and synth-y flavored guitar that funnels its energy from outer space in a complex combination of spunk and acid, fuzzing and droning. Note: organic melodies safe with most medications.

Previous tours have found the Hippies filling opening slots for Soul Coughing's Mike Doughty as well as prog rock legends Nektar. But now the band is ready to stand on their own and give sinners and smokers a toke of their dreamy, introverted trippy riffs. For a taste of how the band's visuals enhance the auditory effects of their psych tunes, check out the videos for "Mirrorball" and "Rose":

Together the trio escaped their Florida roots, earning accolades from audiences and critics alike. Their 2013 release Griffons At The Gates Of Heaven launched more success, bringing them international recognition with the British zine Vive Le Rock declaring "Psychedelia just got sexy," and Classic Rock Radio Dot EU proclaiming "Griffons starts off well and then keeps getting better...it begs to be experienced time and time again." This is a well-crafted band to match that double pint in your hand, so go ahead and schedule the Lyft ride now. You'll need a co-pilot to get home.
