No Other Rappers to Appear on J Cole's 'Born Sinner'

MTV is reporting today that J Cole's upcoming sophomore release 'Born Sinner' will feature numerous guests but none will be sharing the rapping spotlight with J Cole himself. Legendary Missy Elliot made her appearance on Cole's debut album 'Sideline Story' but it will not be the case this time around.

'I got TLC on the album, T-Boz and Chilli..."It's like my favorites, I wanted to go and get my favorites and then have them do the things that I love them for doing... [TLC] is doing what I love them for' J Cole said about the album and who will appear.

J Cole has managed to do something that not many have and that is to get the remaining members of TLC to get together and record new music together. Since the passing of Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopez, T-Boz and Chilli have released just one album. Cole praises his management for accomplishing this and giving his new album the old-school TLC flair. 'That's management right there, shout out to Bystorm, they made that happen. The same thing with Missy Elliott, sometimes you need management to pull those favors, to make those calls'

Drake and Jay-Z, both heavy-hitting MCs themselves, appeared on 'Sideline Story, so it is a surprise that there are no similar names appearing to share the rhyme scheme with J Cole this time around. It appears he wants the people to truly realize that he can stand by himself.

In another bold move by J Cole, he moved up the release date of the album to June 18th. June 18th is the scheduled release date of Kanye West's latest studio releaese 'Yeezus.' Going head to head with one of the best in the game is the definition of a power move. It didn't work out that well for 50 Cent but it remains to be seen how it will pay off for J Cole.
