With "drama tinged folk that could raise the dead," (The Deli Magazine) 5j Barrow have released the new EP, The Journey: Vol.1, on October 6th. The follow-up to their 2014 debut release, From The Dim Sweet Light, the new EP is the first in a series of three, produced by the Grammy-nominated producer, David Mayfield.

Founded and fronted by singer-songwriters and Broadway actors, Eryn Murman and Jason Hite, who " sings with the vocal power of the late, great Jeff Buckley (Cleveland Scene), 5j Barrow have built a loyal following on the streets of New York City. With performances everywhere from the open air of Washington Square Park to Rockwood Music Hall and the historic Apollo Theatre, they "draw sonic inspiration from acts ranging from The Avett Brothers and The Civil Wars." (Acoustic Guitar Magazine) In 2014, the band was named "Best Band in NY" after winning The Greene Space WNYC / WQXR's Battle of the Boroughs 2014. That year also saw the release of the "rollicking, energetic [record]" (Indie-Minded), From the Dim, Sweet Light.

"A delicious combination of genres" (For Us Not Them), 5j Barrow is completed by bassist, Drew Jones, and drummer, Gerard Canonico. Murman and Hite also frequently appear as a duo, as on their current acoustic tour. The official album release show will be a full band show on October 17th at NYC's American Beauty.
