(Morristown, NJ)- Join us at the Bickford theatre for the ever-inventive Morris Choral Society's spring concert. The Morris Museum is pleased to announce that a performance entitled Spring Fling will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3:00pm.

Under the direction of R. Wayne Walters of Parsippany, N.J., Sunday's concert will highlight the music of Broadway and the Tin Pan Alley era. Some of the best-loved compositions of George Gershwin, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Dave Brubeck's Take Five, will be included.

Spring Fling will also feature Express Male, an independent vocal ensemble within the Morris Choral Society. This lively, fun-filled sextet was formed three years ago and includes John Collins of Raritan, N.J., Bud Leppard of Morristown, N.J., Chip Wood of Basking Ridge, N.J., Wayne Walters of Parsippany, N.J., Rob Walters of Long Valley, N.J., and Nicholas Schumacher of Randolph, N. J. The group is accompanied on piano by Ken Rapp of Morristown, N.J. Express Male is sure to dazzle the audience with its repertoire of Broadway favorites and popular tunes.

During its forty years, the Morris Choral Society has performed with many well-known musicians including Judy Collins and Dave Brubeck. The group has also sung Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under the celebrated Leon Hyman and collaborated with The Hanover Wind Symphony under the direction of Matt Paterno. The Morris Choral Society encourages young people in arts education and on stage in major performances in regularly scheduled concerts.

Tickets are $15 for Students; $20 for Members/Seniors; $25 for Non-members. Tickets may be purchased by phone at (973) 971-3706, or in person at the Bickford Theatre Box Office. The Bickford Theatre is conveniently located within the Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, NJ, and offers free parking and full accessibility. Box Office hours for phone sales are Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. Walk-up hours are Tuesday through Friday, 11:00am to 5:00pm.
