MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET music supervisor and acclaimed musician Chuck Mead will be playing a one night only concert March 3 at 9:30 PM at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). In addition to Saturday's show at Joe's Pub, Mead will also play Sunday, March 4 at Philadelphia's World Café.

Tickets for this one night only event are available at http://www.joespub.com/. Tickets for the Philadelphia stop of his tour can be purchased at http://tickets.worldcafelive.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=4327.

Mead's latest studio album Back At The Quonset Hut was released this week to critical acclaim on Ramseur Records. Of the album, the Washington Post declared it, "…upbeat and infectious…" while the Nashville Scene said, "You'd be hard-pressed to find many country performers who don't profess a love of old country music, but Mead outdid them all with the tradition-conscious care and creative flexibility he applied to his new album."

The new record was named after the legendary studio in which it was recorded and features versions of twelve classic country songs including special guest appearances by Bobby Bare, Elizabeth Cook, Jamey Johnson and Old Crow Medicine Show as well members of Nashville's original "A" Team (Harold Bradley, Hargus "Pig" Robbins, Bob Moore and Buddy Spicher). In addition to the album, a documentary of the recording process is also available now. A trailer of the film is available to view here.

On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the "Father of Rock and Roll," who discovered them all. The four young musicians united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time.

Inspired by the true story, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET features a treasure trove of the greatest rock and roll, gospel, R&B and country hits from these musicians, including such iconic songs as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "Sixteen Tons," "Who Do You Love?," "Great Balls of Fire," "Riders in the Sky," "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues," and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On." MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET captures the infectious spirit, freewheeling excitement and thrilling sounds of a singular moment when four of the music industry's most extraordinary talents, all in their creative prime, came together for one of the most memorable nights in music history.
