Seattle's Low Cut High Tops is the identity of 23-year-old musician and art school dropout, David Burns, who is set to release his debut album Eh, Whatever this Friday. In anticipation, he shares the self-produced video for "Let's Runaway" today with Paste Magazine. Click here to watch

The gritty video - conceptualized, directed, and produced by Burns - follows a down-on-his-luck, crack-smoking clown as he vacillates between joy and dejection. The symbolism runs deep throughout the clip as Burns explores ideas of who we present ourselves to be vs. who we are with and without our clown makeup on. It's also just a fantastically catchy tune.

Eh, Whatever is a 10-track collection of swaggering electronic-infused punk rock. Highlighted by hard-hitting bass lines, growling guitars, and Burns' trademark howl, the album explores things that Burns wishes he would have done. Recorded in his bedroom, he had a hand in every step of the creative process - writing, recording, producing, mixing, and more.

Before this album, Burns had never made music outside of the computer. That was actually the whole idea - to create from a place of ignorance. "I've never sung before, played guitar, or really recorded any organic instruments. I wanna show people that one person with an unusual voice can make a great rock record all by himself."
