The Deedle Deedle Dees are an educational rock band based in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2003, they have been wowing families with rousing songs based on history and science. The results have made them New York City favorites, with a rabid and devoted following of kids (and their parents).

For their Symphony Space show, The Dees will take the audience on a musical tour of NYC, a town built from seemingly disparate but somehow wonderfully compatible element. The performance will include a range of this city's musical sounds: hip hop, klezmer, old jazz, punk rock, mariachi, salsa, old string band music, mixed together in new and surprising ways. The band will debut new songs, like "Throw It Away," "Light Up the World" (written with kids at an orphanage in Haiti) , and a song about perseverance called "Working on a Bridge."
