Today, theCongressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI)announced the performance of five time Grammy Award and Latin Grammy-winning international superstarOlga Tanonat its 36th Annual Awards Gala on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The entertainment finale is brought to the CHCI stage byToyota and Anheuser-Busch.

The "Woman on Fire," as she is known around the world, made a voice for the more than 11 million immigrants demanding fair immigration reform in this country. By creating a powerful social media campaign, she brought awareness of the issue to millions around the world. Tanon's voice was so impactful that several other entertainment stars and personalities joined in her efforts to make a stand for the unheard voices.

A multi-faceted artist, Olga Tanon'senergetic rapport has come to characterize heramongstmillions of listeners.Tanon has stood out from an early age and is established as a leading Latin performer. Her albums have sold millions of copies, earning fans across the Americas and in Europe.

Cigarroa, at the 36th Annual Awards Gala. Emmy Award winningTelemundo journalist, Jose Diaz-Balart,will serve as celebrity host for thegala ceremony.

Each year, the CHCI Annual Awards Gala is the hallmark event during Hispanic Heritage Month in Washington, D.C., and serves as the unifying event for the Hispanic-American community. Proceeds from the Gala benefit CHCI's award-winning leadership development programs which include: Ready to Lead (R2L), the Congressional Internship Program (CIP), the Public Policy Fellowship Program (PPF), and the Graduate Fellowship Program (GFP).
