El Dusty Announces Cumbia City: U.S. Die Cut Tour 2018

Latin Grammy nominee and tastemaker, El Dusty, will embark on a U.S. winter tour starting March 2nd. The tour will is slated for 24 dates over 2 months and in support of Cut Chemist.

El Dusty and Cut Chemist first came together for the recently released track "Mi Chola" off Cut Chemist's acclaimed Going Back To Cali: Cut Chemist's Colombian Crates Remixed is MORE THAN CUMBIA album. El Dusty will join Cut Chemist on tour as he returns a back to California kicking off in Los Angeles. Audiences can expect to hear El Dusty's signature sounds through the turntablist tradition of mixing in hip-hop and crate digger's gold with cumbia and other sounds from Latin America. From L.A. the tour follows the Pacific Northwest coast and throughout the West before heading back East. El Dusty will be making his debut appearance in Boston and Washington DC.

Raised and rooted in Corpus Christi, producer, DJ, and nu-cumbia pioneer, El Dusty translates the Southern Texas border experience into new barrio anthems where the MPC2000 sampler and chopped clips of Latin music history collide. With his major label debut on Universal's AFTERCLUV dropping soon, and following the viral and critical acclaim success of his singles "K Le Pasa," and "Cumbia Anthem," El Dusty's self-taught approach is as collaborative as it is singular. Drawing from a crate-digging and turntablist tradition that links Latin classics with the new generation of bass-heavy soundsystem and hip-hop cultures.

"El Dusty is at the forefront of a sound he calls 'the new cumbia,' updating a genre that dates back centuries by adding EDM synths and a digging-in-the-crates approach to samples." - Rolling Stone

This will be the first time El Dusty will be supporting Cut Chemist on tour. Full list of the tour dates can be found below, and here.
