Duo Drops Anti-Trump Christmas Music Video

Hailing from what could be characterized as Flyover, America, two award-winning creatives released a satirical music video on Donald Trump's presidency and the 38 percent of Americans who still support him. The 4:19 full-production track was posted on Facebook before Thanksgiving, and, without paid promotion, is pacing at more than 3,500 views.

"I Got You A Brain For Christmas" is a pop music collaboration from regional rock legend, Rob Fetters (psychodots, The Raisins, The Bears), and author/satirist Bob Woodiwiss (Keys to Uncomfortable Living, The McSweeney's Book of Politics and Musicals, Fifty Shades of Funny). The song, recorded at Fetters' Little House of Noise near Cincinnati, Ohio is performed by The Furious Snowflakes, comprising six veteran singers and musicians. The result is an up-tempo Christmas carol unlike any other, and according to Woodiwiss "is one that both swings and stings." The resulting video is a hybrid of mockumentary voyerism, outrageous imagery and stop motion animation.

The song lyrics take their cue from two conversational themes heard by Woodiwiss at protest events since last January 20th: disbelief that any rational person could support Trump, his reckless management, blatant dishonesty and lack of respect for women and minorities; and the uncomfortable, intensifying antipathy between his bashers and supporters at family, work and social get-togethers. "I Got You A Brain For Christmas" is a sardonic musical response to both, set to a bright original tune that recalls an earlier, more cohesive era.

As the official liner notes state, "Don't miss out on what's sure to be the most riotous, most controversial hit of the season. This is the song the majority of America will be singing and laughing along with until the New Year. And, just as surely, what 38% will be loudly unhappy about. Win-win."

An independent release, "I Got You A Brain For Christmas" is available NOW via most music distributors, including iTunes and CD Baby. The song and lyrics are can be found at https://thefurioussnowflakes.bandcamp.com/releases , the music video is here.
