John Corigliano, the celebrated Oscar-, Pulitzer-, and Grammy-winner and one of the most honored and often-performed American composers of the last quarter-century, who has worked with everyone from Leonard Bernstein and Yo-Yo Ma to film directors Ken Russell and Francois Girard. Plus the Music from Copland House ensemble with acclaimed soprano Amy Burton.

Seven songs in the cycle Mr. Tambourine Man, set to landmark poems by Bob Dylan, plus a work for two pianos that are tuned a quarter-tone apart from each other, a classic violin sonata, and comic songs about music highlight this 75th birthday celebration honoring the famed composer, who will be on hand to introduce his music and lead an audience Q&A.

The concert is set for today, December 1st, 3PM at Copland House at Merestead, 455 Byram Lake Road, Mount Kisco.

Hailed by Aaron Copland as "the real thing [whose] music is quite stunning," Corigliano's work has evoked the ghosts of Mozart, Rossini, and Louis XIV, crossed the centuries in The Red Violin, and honored the victims of AIDS in his massive, Pulitzer Prize-winning 1st Symphony. He has re-set seven of Bob Dylan's iconic lyrics in a kaleidoscopic, intense concert format, ranging from the drug-induced hallucinations of Mr. Tambourine Man and the chilling indictment of the Masters of War to the everyday plainness of Clothes Line and the pure, prayer like Forever Young.
