Carl Palmer Pays Tribute to Keith Emerson 11/11 at SOPAC

The talented Carl Palmer, of the successful band Emerson Lake and Palmer, will take the SOPAC stage November 11 at 8:00 p.m. to pay tribute to his late friend and former bandmate Keith Emerson, who died several months ago. Drum enthusiasts can expect an evening of compelling percussive skills from the man who brought the drum set to the forefront of Rock and Roll.

"I will deeply miss Keith and I want you all to know I will carry on flying the ELP banner and playing the great music with my band for many years to come," said Palmer, in a statement. "We have lost a very talented and gifted musician but this great music will continue for a long, long time."

Carl Palmer is a drummer's drummer. A consummate professional, a brilliant technician and a dynamic showman, he has thrilled listeners and audiences alike for five decades with some of music's most memorable bands including Atomic Rooster, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Asia and, of course, ELP. The distinctive ELP sound merged Art Rock, Jazz, Electronica, Pop Rock and Classical music and found fans within their peers and the public alike. During that time Palmer released only one single as a solo artist but went on to develop a solo career, alongside ELP and his other future bands. He was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1989.

Carl Palmer's dazzling speed and mastery of the drums, combined with his infectious stage personality, have secured for him a respected place in history as one of music's greatest drummers.
