CYN To Join Sigrid On Tour, Drops New Single ALRIGHT

After dazzling fans and critics alike with her glittering pop sensibilities and deeply relatable lyrics, rising pop artist CYN is back with the release of her infectious new single "Alright," out now via UnSub Records. The track, which debuted on i-D who described it as a "dark, dance-floor ready track" and an "ode to self-acceptance," was written by CYN and produced by Sam De Jong (Gary Clark Jr., 30 Seconds To Mars). The new song sees CYN take her undeniable pop prowess straight to the dancefloor, in what's sure to be the first bonafied hit of 2018. Talking about the inspiration behind the single, CYNdetails. "When I wrote this song, I was thinking back on all the notes my teachers wrote on my report cards: would be a perfect student if only she would stop talking, attitude adjustment needed, lacking self-discipline, etc. It's almost funny to me how harsh my teachers were and how they made the littlest things feel like the end of the world! After what felt like a ton of pressure under a constant magnifying glass, I still did it my way and I turned out alright."

With three SOLD OUT live shows opening for BØRNS already under her belt, CYN is ready to up the ante on her live set, recently announcing a string of dates this spring supporting burgeoning Norwegian pop star Sigrid. The tour kicks off April 11th in Toronto, making stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. See above for tour dates and ticket information.

In addition, CYN will be making her SXSW debut next month, playing the Collide / M&M's showcase alongside confirmed talent including Sylvan Esso, Flint Eastwood, Lovelytheband and Mallrat. "Alright" serves as the follow up to CYN's previous releases, "Together" and "Only With You. which she co-wrote with producer extraordinaire, Felix Snow (Selena Gomez, Kiiara, Terror Jr.). "Only With You. was an early standout track for the young artist, following a chance meeting with label founder Katy Perry, who instantly fell in love with the talented popstar's voice and her keen ability to craft a perfect pop song, CYN signed to Perry's Unsub Records in 2016.

Born into a humble middle-class home in Michigan, outside of Detroit, CYN (née Cynthia Nabozny) moved from Chicago to Los Angeles 2 years ago and spent much of last year working hard, writing and recording new material.
