Brooklyn-based band Friends will hit the road this fall with Two Door Cinema Club kicking off tonight at the famed Central Park Summerstage in New York City and winding down in Santa Ana, CA at The Observatory on Sunday, October 28th.
Friends - Samantha Urbani (Vox), Nikki Shapiro (Guitar/Keys), Oliver Duncan (Percussion), and V (Bass) - are touring in support of their heralded, self-produced debut album, Manifest!, released by Fat Possum Records on June 5th.The album is a collection of fun/funky/danceable pop hits, with powerful lyrical themes touching on polyamory, anarchism, empowerment of the individual, being wary of the government and media, existential awe, etc. Manifest! was hailed by The New York Times as"one of the year's most breathless debuts." Publications from Dazed and Confused to The London Times all agree that if there "is to be one more band from Brooklyn then it should be Friends."Friends are known for their highly spirited live shows, where attendees can expect to be danced with, kissed, and tattooed. Having toured non-stop for the past year, the band most recently brought their "untouchable, cool and indelible, hook-laden pop music," (Q Magazine) to festival audiences across Europe including two SOLD OUT shows in London.Videos
