Brassland artists Brooklyn-based duo Buke and Gase--Arone Dyer on the "buke" (a self-modified six-string former baritone ukulele) and Aron Sanchez on the "gase" (a guitar-bass hybrid of his own creation)--will perform this summer 2012 songs from the new album they've been meticulously readying for release this fall. One very catchy preview track called "Hiccup" can be heard right here. It's already been named a Pitchfork "Best New Track." They will open for Tinariwen, details below.

Treasured four-piece post-classical group Clogs will make a very rare stage appearance to share brand new songs as well as classics from their widely-acclaimed 2010 record The Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton and beyond at LA's Bootleg Theater, details below.

Doveman, aka Thomas Bartlett, will take a break from producing everybody's favorite new albums (recently, those of Glen Hansard, Julia Stone and Trixie Whitley) to perform a free (!) show in NYC's Bryant Park with beloved singer-songwriter Alexi Murdoch as part of Tropfest, the world's largest short film festival. Details below (yes, we know you've heard this before).

Last but not least, composer/performer/producer Jherek Bischoff will celebrate his new album Composed--out today and featuring luminaries such as David Byrne, Caetano Veloso, Craig Wedren (Shudder to Think), Nels Cline (Wilco) and Greg Saunier (Deerhoof)--with a highly-coveted opening spot for Amanda Palmer's upcoming, completely sold-out summer tour. Jherek will be doing double duty; after performing his own set with a full band (a new one assembled in every city!), he'll then join Amanda on stage as a bass-wielding member of her Grand Theft Orchestra. (He also plays on her million-dollar-plus-raising new album, which we think is pretty cool, too.) All tour dates below.
