Billboard Debuts New LOWLIGHT Track Ahead of Pretenders Tour -- Born to Run EP out 3/30

The synth-pop quintet, which has been described as one of Jersey's "hardest working and most loyal outfit," is coming forward with another bit of their upcoming EP courtesy of Billboard - "Nights & Weekends" is a songwriter's ode to the hustle, chasing the dream while keeping the bills paid. Lowlightwill be releasing the emotive, anthemic Born to Run EP March 30, right in the middle of their stint supporting The Pretenders up and down the east coast.

Thriving in the musical reawakening of Asbury Park and New Brunswick, the self-produced group started when Renee Maskin (Vocals) and Derril Sellers (Guitar) crossed musical paths after being college acquaintances for a few years. Most of the band members were coming from musical projects that had a sound which might be deemed as more "aggressive" than what you would take away from Lowlight's musical aesthetic. Members of Lowlight can all agree they were seeking a sound where "feeling trumps power".

Listeners may find comparisons to Sharon Van Etten, The National, and Timber Timbre, all of which include a mix of rock, americana, and synth-pop that focuses on songcraft. Born to Run, the follow up to their debut Where Do We Go From Here, is a clear leap forward in the maturity and depth for the band. Consisting of four approachable, though somewhat dark songs, the upcoming EP also includes an epic instrumental studio creation that winds and bends as it progresses.
