Israeli Violinist Tal First Comes to SOPAC, 12/3 ImageTal First is an Israeli violinist making his mark as a young virtuoso. SOPAC is proud to present this rising young musician on Sunday, December 3 at 3 p.m. Now studying at the famed Juilliard conservatory in New York, his many awards and achievements led to support from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, among others.

The program will include Mozart's Sonata in G Major, k. 301, Jan Friedlin's Suite first part, Bloch's Nigun, Kreisler's Recitativo and Scherzo and Grieg's Sonata in C minor, Op. 45. His accompanying pianist is Natalie Nedvetsky.

Tal First began his violin studies with Mr. Geri Ferber at the age of 6. He continued his studies with Ms. Svetlana Simannovsky at the Thelma Yellin School of Arts. After graduating high school, Tal studied with Ms. Simannovsky at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv as a recipient of an Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Scholarship and during his Army service as an "Outstanding Musician."

Tal First plays on a violin made by Gaetano Pollastri, generously loaned to him by Mr. Yehuda Zisapel. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for students and senior citizens. Since 2006, SOPAC has been serving as a premier performing arts center in the region. SOPAC offers innovative artistic and cultural experiences for diverse audiences in an intimate, inviting environment. The premier arts center hosts a variety of live performances, community events and education programs for all ages. To further expand its offerings, SOPAC has a partnership with the Juilliard School of Music to present Juilliard @ SOPAC-a series featuring upcoming musicians from the acclaimed conservatory. SOPAC is home for Seton Hall University Arts Council's performances, including Classical Concert Series, Jazz 'N the Hall performances and Seton Hall University Theatre productions.
