Odile Koudou's THE BLESSING LEGACY to Be Adapted into a Screenplay

In a small community outside Baltimore, a dream planted many years ago in a tiny village on the Ivory Coast gave birth to an award-winning book, "The Blessing Legacy" (http://www.theblessinglegacy.com). Now that dream is birthing a film of the same name.

MCA-RJA (http://myclassifiedads.net) is helping author Odile Koudou get the word out about her dramatic journey from poverty to success.

The book's subtitle is "A Memoir of Africa, a Father's Faith, and a Destiny Fulfilled." It is a poignant narrative penned by Odile who, though born poor, would one day travel the world-from the sparkling lights of Paris to a promised land called America.

"I remember my dad saying poverty is a disease, an expense one cannot afford, but victory is by choice or good report and miracles are from God," the author said. "God is faithful and very dependable-just trust Him."

Though not formally educated, Odile's father, Orega Koudou was wise-and he shared that wisdom with his family.

"Children, you must learn to be givers and not takers," he would say. "When you give more, you will receive a blessing."

Odile listened carefully, saving each nugget her father shared. Along the way-despite obstacles, struggles and setbacks-she did not just survive, she thrived. Success followed: A career in banking and finance industry, a loving husband, two wonderful daughters. But she never forgot her roots.

"Africa, oh Africa," she wrote longingly in her book. "You are a wonderful and beautiful continent, a platform full of rich resources and hardworking people, but your people are limited by a 'cannot' mindset."

Hoping to "reverse the curse" of poverty and inspire others to live a life of "extraordinary excellence," Odile emptied a full measure of her soul into "The Blessing Legacy." One of Odile's treasures from the distribution of her book is a personal letter from noted librarian, and former First Lady, Laura Bush, who wrote, "You know how I love to read!"

With her work having garnered several honors-including from the World Music & International Film Festival and the Universal Achievement Award-Odile has moved on to fulfill her next vision. With a finished script in hand and an agent in Los Angeles, she is exercising the same fervor promoting the script that helped make her book a success.

"I think it would make a very good feel-good movie," said her veteran agent William Kerwin.

Actor and writer Philip Kroopf, who worked on the script, agrees, noting that, "A true faith story at this point in time is very valuable."
