In Army Life: Up Close And Personal, Renita Menyhert writes the true to life, sometimes educational, and sometimes funny experiences of life inside the American military. This latest work of nonfiction from the author of Remember Pearl Harbor and Operation Vittles, is a not only a trove of personal recollections and insights on the army life; it is a profile of the humble, unrewarded courage that typify active military service in the United States.

As an active duty and reserve soldier, not to mention Army wife and mother as well, there were times when Menyhert felt like that she had crammed six lifetimes into one. The editorials, stories and journals found in Army Life: Up Close And Personal are about some of those experiences, and while some were absolutely heartbreaking, most produce laughter, wonder, and spectacular life events that she might otherwise not have known.

Menyhert proudly says she would not trade her experience of the hectic and heavy-duty military lifestyle for the world. Her stories are records of the vagaries of active duty and adjustments to them, the stories of normal Americans (inclusive of children and families) who smile and bear up under the abnormal but necessary duties and sacrifices necessary for this nation's defense.

Insightful, honest and thoroughly engaging, Army Life: Up Close And Personal is both a personal account of the author's own contributions to the military effort-invaluable in keeping the men and women of the U.S. armed services anchored in the civilized virtues of humanity and compassion- and a wisely funny book that rides the undercurrent of military emergencies and violence in war with panache and grace.

This book will be featured at the 2013 Texas Library Association Book Exhibit in Austin, Texas on April 24 - 27, 2013. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
