Tommy Tune Named Guest of Honor of Shea's 90th Anniversary Gala
Tune will be appearing as a special guest of honor at Shea's where he will walk the red carpet on Main Street, meet with VIP's and attendees at the sold-out Gala event, and help lead a special Birthday Spectacular presented by Russell J. Salvatore, to celebrate the 90th milestone.
"Tommy Tune is one of the most prolific performers, directors and choreographers EVER," said Bryan & Kathy Wittman, Chairpersons of the Event. "To have someone of his artistic caliber who is acting as an Ambassador of the Broadway community for this historic event, it's a testament to the value of Shea's in Western New York and the broader theatre community."
In addition to winning 10-Tony Awards, Tommy Tune is also the recipient of the recent Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Tony's, has taken home 8 Drama Desk Awards, 3 Astaire Awards, has his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was named a "Living Landmark" by the New York Landmarks Conservancy. He is also the recipient of the coveted National Medal of Arts, the highest honor bestowed on someone for artistic achievement by the President of the United States.
Tune's stage credits include: Baker Street, A Joyful Noise, Seesaw, My One and Only, The Will Rogers Follies and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. His film credits include: Hello Dolly, The Boy Friend and Mimi Bluette...fiore del mio giardino.
