RLTP: Blacklight Announces November Schedule
Road Less Traveled Productions' (RLTP's) new late-night theatre program, RLTP: Blacklight , has announced an adjustment in its November schedule. The program was slated to present RE: Saved By The Bell, a world-premiere parody, in November; that offering has been postponed and all scheduled dates will be filled with performances by the RLTP: Blacklight improv comedy troupe, Domino Effect .
Domino Effect will perform Friday, November 11th and every Friday and Saturday thereafter through December 3rd. RLTP Executive & Artistic Director Scott Behrend labeled Domino Effect "wacky, zany, and highly caffeinated" and promised that the troupe would continue to deliver laughs, audience interaction, and "special guests stars." In addition, local bands will open for Domino Effect on select dates.
RLTP: Blacklight, which was launched in September 2011, will continue to present late-night theatre in 2012. The new year's selections will include:
* Burtonesque (2/3/12-2/18/12), a theatrical fantasia inspired by the works of Tim Burton and directed by Drew McCabe, with Wendy Hall and Jenny Kulwicki;
* Dependent, Undisciplined, And Sleeping Late (3/10/12-3/31/12), a comedy written by Steve Roylance, directed by Kristin Bentley, and starring Jonathan Shuey and Jessica Wegrzyn, about two bickering and underachieving brothers;
* Walken To A Bar (4/21/12-4/28/12), which is (according to Behrend), "the world's first Christopher Walken tribute show," in which actor Aaron Krygier and RLTP Resident Playwright & Literary Director Jon Elston will essay classic scenes originally performed by the screen legend, as well as "classic scenes never performed by the screen legend, reimagined in the style of the screen legend;" and
* The Real Zombie Housewives Of Buffalo (5/4/12-5/12/12), featuring the cast of Domino Effect in an original parody of the popular series of reality TV shows, "with a timely twist! They're hot, they're fashionable, and they want to eat your flesh!" Behrend said. He added, "Housewives have always been hot, while zombies have never been hotter!"
RLTP: Blacklight runs at 10:30PM every Friday and Saturday night of RLTP's 2011-2012 Season, following each season production. " RLTP: Blacklight offers a mix of new, unusual, and hysterically funny plays, as well as sketch comedy, improv, stand-up, burlesque, neo-vaudeville, live music, and much more," promised Behrend. "All gloves are off and anything is possible."
A full schedule of RLTP: Blacklight offerings through May 2012 is at www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org . All tickets for RLTP: Blacklight cost only $10 and are available at the Box Office 30 minutes before each performance.
