Chautauqua Theater Company (CTC), under the leadership of Vivienne Benesch Artistic Director and Sarah Clare Corporandy Managing Director, proudly presents Tennessee Williams' award-winning classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (June 28-July 7) to kick off its 30th Anniversary season on the Bratton Theater Mainstage. Opening night is June 29 at 6pm.Tennessee Williams' favorite among his own plays, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is directed by Lisa Rothe (CTC's Ah! Wilderness; Off-Broadway Hold These Truths).

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof features Broadway's Harris Yulin (The Diary of Anne Frank, The Price, Hedda Gabler) as Big Daddy and Candy Buckley (Scandalous; After the Fall, Ring Round the Moon) as Big Momma in their CTC debuts. Conservatory actors Carly Zien (Yale School of Drama, Playwrights Horizons, TheatreWorks USA) and Peter Mark Kendall (Trinity Rep/Brown MFA program, CENTERSTAGE) are featured as Maggie and Brick, along with Matt Raich (Yale School of Drama) as Gooper, Mallory Portnoy (Juilliard) as Mae, Anthony Goes (CT Rep) as Dr. Baugh, and David Vegh (CTC's Night of the Iguana, The Show Off, Blue Window) as Rev. Tooker. Making their CTC debuts are three local children in the cast for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof: Emma Dow, Jackson Stellhorn and Emma Jane Stephen.

The raw emotions and crackling dialogue of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof rumble like a thunderstorm in this masterwork of family guilt, frustration and greed. A powerful Southern family gathers at a birthday celebration for patriarch Big Daddy who is unaware he is dying. In a scramble to secure their part of his estate, family members hide the truth about his diagnosis from him and Big Mama. Tensions mount between the alcoholic former football hero Brick and his beautiful sexually frustrated but determined wife Maggie 'the Cat'. As their troubled relationship comes to a stormy and steamy climax, a shockwave of secrets is finally revealed.
