710 Main Theatre to Stage JOSEPH'S GOSPEL, 12/17-20

710 Main Theatre presents the international sensation Joseph's Gospel making its U.S. premire in Buffalo. Joseph's Gospel - a touching comedy about parenthood as told from the unique perspective of Joseph of Bethlehem. A warm-hearted and intelligent spin on a familiar story, Joseph's Gospel is a divine comedy for parents everywhere. Starring Alan Safier, playing December 17-20 at the 710 Main Theatre in Buffalo.

Performances are Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM, and Sunday at 2:00 PM.

Alan Safier (Say Goodnight Gracie) returns to the 710 Main Theatre in JOSEPH'S GOSPEL, the international solo-performance play that tells the story of Joseph of Bethlehem, his betrothal to Mary, and the birth of their first son from a dad's uniquely humorous point of view. Alan Safier's deft comic touch makes this poignant and warm-hearted tale of love and parenthood accessible to audiences of all ages and all beliefs. It was originally performed by playwright John Dowie in a production directed by Victor Spinetti at The Birmingham Rep Studio Theatre, then played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was performed by Tom Conti in London's West End, with subsequent productions in Israel, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Norway and Germany.

Alan Safier is an actor, singer, producer, and acting teacher. He has been on stage, on television, in commercials and in voice overs for over five decades. His one-man performances in "Say Goodnight Gracie" and "Humbug!" have earned him accolades and standing ovations across North America. In addition to playing George Burns in "Say Goodnight Gracie", Alan has portrayed many other famous people in his stage career: John Adams in "1776", Spiro Agnew in Gore Vidal's "An Evening with Richard M. Nixon", Charles J. Guiteau in the Los Angeles premiere of Stephen Sondheim's "Assassins", Albert Einstein in the world-premiere musical "The Smartest Man in the World", and Truman Capote in the hit off-Broadway 30th-anniversary revival of New Faces of 1952.Safier has previously performed at the 710 Main Theatre as George in Burns in "Say Goodnight Gracie."
