The Knitting Factory Presents Sarah Murdoch, Gaelynn Lea and More

By:
Sarah Murdoch's voice has been described as "hypnotic, addictive, and the perfect balance between charm and grit" (AXS August 2016). A regular performer at Parkside Lounge and Sidewalk Cafe, she combines powerful blues vocals with modern folk influences resulting in uniquely haunting ballads that "continue to establish her as a formidable voice on the downtown music scene. "

On Monday January 23rd, Ms. Murdoch will join forces with GAELYNN LEA
NPR's 2016 Tiny Desk contest winner (for Someday We'll Linger In The Sun)
on a folk rock concert at the world famous Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.
Gaelynn Lea released her debut record entitled "All the Roads that Lead Us Home" in November 2015. The dynamic solo album pays homage to the traditional fiddle tunes and beloved standards and also features a masterful use her Memory Man looping pedal which creates winding layers of sound underneath the familiar melodies.

In addition to her busy touring schedule, Gaelynn also loves to do public speaking engagements about disability, overcoming challenges, and the joy of music. She has a congenital disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bones Disease and, in recent years, has used her music as a platform to advocate for people with disabilities and to promote positive social change.

A portion of every ticket from the Knitting Factory appearance will be donated to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a charity that provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling with illness, disability, or age-related problems. More info at www.sweetrelief.org.

Tickets for the January 23rd concert can be purchased from the venue here.
