Lots of new things in September: new notebooks for the new school year, new fall looks, new fall recipes and of course, the start of a new season at The Invisible Dog, the 9th!

The beginning of our new season is inspired by dialogue. Essential to our programming is the dialogue between artwork and our unique architectural spaces. Our fall exhibitions expand the idea of dialogue further. In the main space, AUTHOR by a canary torsi is focused on the dialogue between audience and performer. In the Glass House, WHEELOCK by Abraham McNally is a dialogue between wood and wool.

This month, we are also hosting a release party for Fabrice Jaumont's new book The Bilingual Revolution, which directly connects to the concept of dialogue between people and across linguistic barriers.

Later in September, designer Eileen Fisher will present an exhibition in the space about the dialogue between craftsmanship and circularity and publisher Jean Boîte Editions will offer an evening of dialogues in the Garden of The Invisible Dog.
Dialogue is key to avoiding conflict, eliminating fear of the other, and sparking creativity-all fundamental components of our mission here at the The Invisible Dog.
We look forward to seeing you soon and engaging you in conversation.

INSTALLATION
SEPTEMBER 9-17 AUTHOR by A CANARY TORSI

OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 6-10PM

The Invisible Dog Art Center is partnering with The Chocolate Factory Theater and Abrons Art Center to premiere a canary torsi's trilogy, CAST, STAGE, AUTHOR, in New York City. The trilogy draws from a collection of audio and video recordings (the project's "archive") that interdisciplinary artist Yanira Castro generated with fifteen accomplished NYC performing artists concerning the process of performing, casting and the complexities of representation. AUTHOR, the third work in the trilogy, will be at The Invisible Dog Art Center. It is a participatory video installation that invites each audience member to share their memories as spectators by interacting with the project's archive through a computer game. Forming a poetically mediated stream-of-conscious between each visitor and the archive generated by the project's performers, visitors to the gallery will walk away with a printed transcript of their interaction. >>> More Info

EXHIBITION
SEPTEMBER 9 - OCTOBER 21 WHEELOCK by ABRAHAM MCNALLY

OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 6-10PM

This installation features work Abe made with his father at his childhood home; a Christmas tree farm in Northern Vermont. The single sculpture is made of only two materials: wood and wool. Poplar logs were cut and milled with a chainsaw on the farm's overgrown pastures. Raw sheep fleece was collected from a local farm. These simple materials open conversations between past, present, and place. This human scale sculpture offers a personal visceral encounter: body of sculpture to body of viewer. >>> More Info

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 7.30-10PM
THE BILINGUAL REVOLUTION by FABRICE JAUMONT

The Bilingual Revolution is a collection of inspirational vignettes and practical advice that tells the story of the parents and educators who founded dual language programs in New York City public schools. Convinced that bilingual education is a public good that should be offered to all students, these pioneers illustrate how these programs can positively transform a community, a school, and even a country. The book doubles as a "how to" manual for setting up your own bilingual school and, in so doing, launching your own revolution.
