Reps from NYTW and LCT3 Set for Asian American Arts Alliance's 'GATEKEEPERS' Panel

Join the Asian American Arts Alliance for a thought-provoking conversation with artistic staff administrators who run labs for emerging writers and directors in "Roundtable for Theatre Artists: How to Approach and Engage Gatekeepers in the Theatre" on November 14, 2016.

Artists who are interested in honing their approach to a theatre's artistic staff and learning how to put their best foot forward will be interested in the advice and expertise of this panel.

This panel is a conversation with artistic staff administrators who run labs for emerging writers and directors. The conversation will be focused on the emerging artist landscape, the labs that they run and what they look for, as well as advice on the best approaches to correspondence, marketing, and timing.

Aaron Malkin has been the Literary Associate at New York Theatre Workshop since 2012. At NYTW, he serves as the resident dramaturg, oversees the literary office, co-administers the 2050 Fellowship, and works extensively on the theatre's public programming initiatives. Before moving to New York, Aaron worked at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Arena Stage as a dramaturg and producer. He has collaborated with Emily Mann, Ayad Akhtar, Sibyl Kempson, Anaïs Mitchell, Des McAnuff, Will Power, Colman Domingo, Sanaz Ghajarrahimi, Hansol Jung, Lucas Hnath, and Nathan Alan Davis, among others, and has been published in HowlRound: A Journal of the Theater Commons, Shakespeare Theatre Company's Asides Magazine, and Arena Stage's Sub/Text: Your Virtual Dramaturg. Aaron is a graduate oF Brown University.

Natasha Sinha is a dramaturg and producer, focusing on new plays, musicals and devised work. She is the Associate Director of LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater, which exclusively produces premieres (including Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar, the Rude Mechs' Stop Hitting Yourself, Dave Malloy's Preludes, and War by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins). Natasha is also a co-founder of Beehive Dramaturgy Studio. She is on the Advisory Boards of Musical Theatre Factory and SPACE on Ryder Farm. Prior to joining LCT3, she was the Associate Producer at Barrington Stage Company. In addition to freelancing as a dramaturg, past projects in NYC include Post-Op by Shakina Nayfack, FEM (an evening of works-in-progress at JACK), Sam Salmond's Stand Alone: Songs About and Written By Losers, and One More Sleep 'Til Christmas. Natasha has served as a judge on various award committees, taught classes (New School for Drama, Primary Stages ESPA, Marymount College), read for Page 73 and NYMF, and worked in the literary departments of various theater agencies, Daryl Roth Theatre, and Lark Play Development Center. Graduate of Barnard College (Music, English).
