Aziz Ansari brings his Road to Nowhere stand-up comedy tour to BAM on May 18. Ansari stars in, writes, and directs Master of None, a Netflix original comedy series that he co-created with Alan Yang (Parks and Recreation). Aziz won the 2016 and 2017 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series" and has received five additional nominations for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" (2016 and 2017), "Outstanding Comedy Series" (2016 and 2017), and "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series" (2016).

He won the 2017 Golden Globe Award for "Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy" and the show was nominated in 2016 and 2017 for "Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy." Master of None was additionally nominated for a 2017 WGA Award for "Writing for a Comedy Series" and a 2017 TCA Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Comedy" and Aziz was nominated for "Individual Achievement in Comedy." He was honored with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy in 2017, a SAG nomination in 2017 for "Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series," and the 2017 WGAW Evan Somers Award for outstanding writing featuring characters with disabilities, for the episode "New York, I Love You." Aziz received his first DGA Award for "Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for 2017" for The Thief, and his first PGA Award-The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy: Master of None (Season 2).

In addition to his work as a writer and performer, Aziz has lent his voice to animated projects in both film and television; the Fox animated series Bob's Burgers as 'Deryl' and in 20th Century Fox's animated features Epic and Ice Age: Continental Drift, which grossed $268 million and $877 million worldwide, respectively.

For his career in comedy, Aziz received Variety's "Power of Comedy" Award in 2014. Aziz got his start in entertainment performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and with the sketch comedy group Human Giant.

Aziz Ansari: Road to Nowhere comes to BAM Howard Gilman Opera House (30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn) on May 18 at 7 & 10:30pm.
