Lysistrata (LISS-i-STRA-da) is a bawdy anti-war comedy by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, first staged in 411 BC. It is the comic account of one womans extraordinary mission to end the Peloponnesian War, as Lysistrata convinces the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands as a means of forcing the men to negotiate a peace. Some consider it his greatest work!Come for a whacky evening where you are transported to Ancient Greece for a couple of hours. We invite you to come in your favorite Greek outfit or colors!To make the evening even more lively, cocktails will be available before and during the show!This production is in a style of an old time radio show, with actors reading their lines from their script on music stands with minimal movement. This allows the actors to get script revisions up until tech week to make the script as strong as possible.Actors will be in full costume, hair and make up to make you feel you are back in time.
