The Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College has released their 2018-2019 season. Beginning with the launch of "Shakespeare Under the Stars," which will take "The Tempest" on the road to three outdoor stages across the Cape, Tilden Arts Center Coordinator Vana Trudeau has designed a season that will truly offer something for everyone, with a diverse lineup of music, magic and modern theatre.

The inaugural season of "Shakespeare Under the Stars," will present a 75-minute version of "The Tempest," on the Hyannis Village Green, the Salt Pond Visitor Center at the Cape Cod National Seashore in Eastham, and at Mashpee Commons' new outdoor stage. Directed by Eric Joseph, Executive Director of the Bay Colony Shakespeare Company, the production includes both student and community actors from across the region and will be presented on various Mondays and Fridays in July and August.

On Thursday August 2nd, Master Illusionist Lyn Dillies returns to the Tilden Main Stage. Infusing all the spectacle and flash of Las Vega into an enchanting, family-friendly event, Lyn's illusions put audiences on the edge of their seats as she dazzles and astounds audiences of all ages. Tickets range from $10-$25.

For one night only, Tuesday August 14th, "the Band America Loves," The Hal McIntyre Orchestra brings the sound of big band to the Tilden Main Stage with their musical tribute to Frank Sinatra. Hal McIntyre was one of the founding members of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and his ensemble entertained troops overseas during WWII. His orchestra and his legacy endures under the direction of Don Pendleton. Tickets are $24.50-$29.50.

In October, Trudeau will direct Sarah Ruhl's "Dead Man's Cell Phone," a wildly imaginative comedy by MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl. Auditions will be held at the Tilden Arts Center in late summer. The production is presented in part by the college's Performing Arts program, and students are encouraged to register for THR113 Rehearsal & Performance to earn college credit for participating in the production process.

The holiday dance season heats up with the return of Turning Pointe Dance Studio's "Sea Captain's Nutcracker," November 24th and 25th, Tchaikovsky's traditional Nutcracker presented by BalletWorks December 1st and 2nd, and the comic variant, "Coppelia" presented by Atlantic Coast Academy of Dance on December 8th and 9th.

Ronnie Spector and the Ronettes will perform on December 16th, presented by Spectacle Management. Spector is called the original "bad girl of rock and roll" and the embodiment of the heart, soul, and passion of female rock and roll in the 1960s. With memorable hits such as "Be My Baby," and "The Best Part of Waking Up," you won't want to miss these Rock & Roll Hall of Famers in concert.

The new year begins by welcoming back the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival January 29th - February 2nd. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the KCACTF will also be hosted by Cape Cod Community College in January of 2020 and 2021. Trudeau, currently serving as co-Vice Chair of the regional event, will take on the co-Chair position for the region beginning in 2021 and continuing through 2023.

Rounding out the 2018-2019 season will be a multicultural performance series, with dates and performers to be announced, and the April 2019 production of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," Simon Stephens' adaptation of the acclaimed Mark Haddon novel, and winner of the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play.

The tale centers around 15-year old Christopher, exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Tilden Arts Center box office at 508.375.4044 or by visiting www.TildenArtsCenter.Eventbrite.com. Some outside events may be separately ticketed by the producing group.
