The MIT Musical Theatre Guild Seeks Production Staff For SIDESHOW
The MIT Musical Theatre Guild is looking for production staff candidates for the Fall 2009 production of SIDE SHOW, Book and Lyrics by Bill Russell, Music by Henry Krieger
We are looking to fill the following production staff positions:
Technical Director
Set Designer
Lighting Designer
Sound Designer
Publicity Manager
Master Carpenter
Master Stitcher
Master Electrician
Props Manager
Program Designer

Based on the true story of Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton who became stars during the Depression, Side Show is a moving portrait of two women joined at the hip whose extraordinary bondage brings them fame but denies thEm Love. Told almost entirely in song, the show follows their progression from England to America, around the vaudeville circuit and to Hollywood on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie Freaks.
Cast, production staff, and orchestra positions are open to everyone, although preference will be given to MIT students and community members in accordance with the MTG constitution.
Constitution of the MIT Musical Theatre Guild, Section 2.1: "A full awareness of the Musical Theatre Guild's affiliation with MIT will be maintained. In filling cast and production positions, priority will be given to members of the MIT community, and in particular to MIT students."
The MIT community includes all MIT students, alumni, faculty, staff, their immediate families, and Wellesley students. The membership of the Musical Theatre Guild consists of anyone who has worked on an MTG show within the past year, regardless of MIT affiliation.
MTG is a volunteer organization; compensation is not provided to production staff, cast, or orchestra members.
