Under the direction of Artistic Director Hal Brooks, the Cape Cod Theatre Project has a long history of presenting some of America's best new plays. Audiences are invited to participate in the creation of new works for American theater, many of which go on to off-Broadway, Broadway, or regional engagements.

Playwright John Cariani (Almost, Maine and Love/Sick) returns to Cape Cod following a thirteen year absence. Mr. Cariani worked with CCTP to debut Almost, Maine-which became the most produced show in North America, and has run as far away as Hungary, Russia, Mexico, and Australia. Mr. Cariani is also an acclaimed actor, best known for his 2004 Tony-nominated performance as Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof, as well as his portrayal of Nigel Bottom in Something Rotten!

The off-Broadway production of cul-de-sac opened in 2006, were it was met with critical acclaim. The New York Times called it "Charming, witty and macabre." Variety deemed the production "exciting to watch." Audiences agreed. After several years and several re-writes, the Cape Cod Theater Project is proud to present a fresh look at Cariani's show. Tony-nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God, Present Laughter with Kevin Kline) will direct.

Cul-de-sac follows three families: the Smiths, The Johnsons, and the Jones. Through a brilliantly comedic book, the audience follows the extreme measures that the couples will take to achieve happiness-or at least look happy. Cul-de-sac examines the American dream and the nightmare it can become.

All presentations of cul-de-sac will take place at 8:00 P.M. in the newly renovaTEd Simons Arts Center at Falmouth Academy in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Tickets are available for (a suggested donation of) $25 each or a season subscription of $100, and can be purchased by calling the box office at (508) 457-4242
